Long Live the BDSM King [One Piece 1035]

Zoro finally crowned the King.

Last chapter, we saw Sanji’s victory over Queen. This time it’s Zoro’s takedown of King, real name Alber and the first member of Kaido’s crew.

Makes sense Kaido recruited King. Both are powerful non-humans feared by the government. I like the detail of them being locked up at Punk Hazard for a time. It gels with what we knew about the secret government facility. Although we still don’t know where either Kaido or King’s original home is. That may be something Oda’s saving for the Void Century flashback.

King forgot to use the safe word
And with that ballsy strike, Zoro doomed the Lunarians to extinction

It also makes sense why King kept his identity secret seeing as the World Government especially wanted him back in their custody. Why? Is it because of what he is? Who he is? Or what he knows? Not sure. Maybe a little of each. Guess we’ll wait and see.

Alright, so now we have Luffy VS Kaido and Law/Kid VS Big Mom as the major fights left. Still, with everything else from Yamato’s pursuit of Kazenbo, to Momonosuke trying to stop Onigashima from destroying the Flower Capital, to CP0 and Orochi, this arc still has a long way to go. Maybe not another year, but I can’t see the Wano Arc wrapping up in the next few months. Maybe in Summer ’22 at the earliest, but who knows.

You know there’s such a thing as hair dye, right King?

This was a good chapter! Zoro using his brain as well as Enma and King’s haki to defeat King was fun. And the morsel of info about King’s past was a welcomed surprise. I wonder who else was locked up at Punk Hazard? It’s been a while since I’ve heard about Calista Flockhart. Someone better check she’s not holed up in the break room or something.
